About Us

The Social Sector Club at Djookanup brings people together through a wide range of fun, inclusive, and affordable social activities throughout the year. Our club aims to:
  • Create opportunities for staff to connect outside of work
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Provide enjoyable social activities and events
  • Encourage networking and relationship-building across teams
Whether you’re attending a sundowner, quiz night, Christmas in July buffet, or our signature Christmas party, you’ll enjoy meeting colleagues in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Event Participation, Registration, and Cancellation Guidelines

To ensure Social Club funds are used effectively and provide the greatest benefit to all members, we ask that members commit to attending events once they have registered.
In recent years, the Social Club has incurred significant avoidable costs due to members registering for events but not attending. We hope you agree that these funds could be better used to provide additional events and enhance existing activities for all members.
To help minimise these costs, the following guidelines apply to all Social Club events:

Event Registrations and Cancellations

  1. If you can no longer attend an event you have registered for, please try to find another member to take your place. If this is not possible, notify the Event Coordinator as soon as possible. Contact details are generally included on the event flyer.
  2. Cancellation requests must be provided to the Event Coordinator by email at least three working days before the event, together with the reason for cancellation. This allows the Social Club the best opportunity to avoid incurring costs associated with your booking.

If less than three working days’ notice is provided (unless due to exceptional circumstances), the Social Club reserves the right to seek reimbursement of the costs incurred on your behalf, such as the per-person event fee.

Please note that cancellation may also result in forfeiture of any event booking fee paid, unless another member takes your place and pays the applicable fee.

  1. Members who pay their Social Club membership via fortnightly or monthly deductions and attend Social Club events within their first six months of membership agree to maintain their membership for a minimum of six months to help offset the cost of subsidised activities and events.

The Social Club appreciates your support and cooperation in helping us maximise the value of membership for everyone.

Standards of Behaviour

Social Club events are an opportunity to connect with colleagues and enjoy a positive social environment. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, members are expected to:

  • Treat fellow members and guests with courtesy and respect.
  • Consume alcohol responsibly where it is provided.
  • Plan a safe journey home and arrange suitable transport if required.
  • Be mindful of health, safety and wellbeing considerations.
  • Understand that alcohol consumption is never an excuse for harassment, bullying, discrimination or any other inappropriate behaviour.

All members are expected to uphold the values and standards of behaviour that contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

Thank you for your continuing support.
